Allie's teeth

Allie lost her first tooth (bottom front) about a week ago and she was so excited. The one right by it came out a day or two later and the tooth fairy came again. Now she lost one top front tooth today and she looks so cute. Every time she comes up talking to me I can't help but smile. I love a 6-year-old grin! This tooth has been loose for a few weeks (maybe even months) but she keeps saying that she wont pull it out until her birthday (which is Saturday). Today she was eating a cucumber (whole- just like you would eat a carrot) and it popped out. She was laughing so hard. I had to post these pictures right away because she looks so old and different, but I didn't want to post them before all of the other things I've been meaning to post this month. So these teeth are responsible for my spending the whole night blogging (8 new posts) and Hanna making dinner and Scott doing the dishes. Thanks teeth! I love you Allie!

Soccer

Both Hanna and Sara have been playing spring soccer. Hanna's team is the yellow jackets and Sara's is the green eagles (Sara wanted green grasshoppers but the team voted her down). They have learned a lot and its been fun! Last game is Saturday and I've only taken the camera one time so the top two pictures are Sara and the bottom two Hanna.

Sara's Birthday

Sara had a week long birthday extravaganza! On her birthday she had a dance recital and soccer game and grandparents visiting so we couldn't have her party but we had frog cupcakes. She asked for a frog habitat for her birthday and she got it with 2 real live tree frogs. Then on Monday she had her "school birthday" so I made another batch of frog cupcakes (as per her request). Then the next Saturday we had a friend birthday party and she requested a fish cake (We were running late so I spent about 20 minutes on it...again, not my best work). We had friends over to play outside and then went swimming then back to the house for cake and ice cream. I thought I had it all planned out but we were running late after swimming because I didn't realize that it would take 6 - 8 year old girls 30 minutes to get ready after swimming. I thought at 8 years old they could put on their clothes and call it good, no need for hair-drying. Finally at the 30 minute point I told them that we had to go or their parents would be waiting at our house to pick them up. The girls all had a blast. I am so grateful for this girl. She is so spunky and fun and she always keeps me on my toes. She was at a friends house the other day and each of the 3 other kids asked at different times, "why is it so quiet?" Sara keeps us all entertained and she rarely complains that she is bored because she is so good at finding something fun to do, creating a new game or reinventing an old one. She is a great older sister to Carter and Allie and includes them in her fun, and she is a great younger sister to Hanna and I am happy that they are each others best-friend. I am so blessed to be her mom!

Hanna had this idea for her hair and we couldn't spend the time to do it for a few days. We finally had time on memorial day but it wasn't exactly what she wanted. She wanted it twisted not braided, but after a few failed attempts we settled for the braided. I am not one of those girls who couldn't wait to have a daughter so that I could fix her hair, its not one of my interests - ironic since I was blessed with 3 girls. I am actually a little proud of my side-french-braid. Mostly I am proud of my Hanna she is such an amazing girl. So pleasant to be around and helpful. The other day she said, "mom can I do the laundry?" ummmmm let me think about that for a minute. Then she put in a load and folded the load that was in the dryer and then did another after. Tonight she made dinner while I sat and blogged (and Scott did the dishes). I am so blessed to have this sweet Hanna (she is the only one without a birthday in May but I don't want anyone to think that I love her less)! Poor little Carter is trying so hard to "run with the big dogs" We have something nearly every night of the week between dance, soccer, piano, and church activities. He is a good sport tagging along for everything. He is always by my side and I'm not sure if anyone in Boise has ever seen me without him. One night he was so tired and leaning on the counter while I made dinner, I looked over and he was out. I wasn't sure if I should put him to bed at 6:00 or wake him up. I let him sleep for about 30 minutes and then put him in the car for the next event. Sara had to make an African Savannah Grassland Habitat for school. We spent a lot of time on this project and she was so proud.

Dance Recital

This girls had their spring ballet recital on May 16th (Sara's birthday). Grandma and Grandpa Prisbrey came up to watch and we had so much fun. Hanna and Sara both had soccer games that morning, then dress rehearsal, home for lunch, back to the recital, then shopping with Grandma Karen. It was a crazy Saturday and I didn't even get one picture with the grandparents. I'm sure the kids will always remember that they drove 9 hours for the recital!

Allie's Zoo Field Trip

All of the kindergartner's got to go to the zoo. Carter and I decided to meet them there and we had so much fun. Since kindergarten only lasts 3 hours by the time they were bussed down there and then left in time to get home we only had about and hour and a half, so its good that they have "all the energy in the world" because we pretty much ran the whole time. This is Allie's group (and some extra kids like Carter) Allie thought it would be a cute picture to lay on this and Carter thought it would be a cute picture to sit on her. Carter riding a tiger These two are such great friends. Carter wants to go wait for Allie to get home from kindergarten at 10:00 every morning. I have to tell him two more hours....one more hour....30 minutes...10 minutes...k Carter, lets go get her from the bus stop....I don't want to, I'll just wait here...augh! "Look mom I'm dancing with a giraffe!" This coat is one of my best thrifty finds ever. We were in JC Penny for something last March when we saw this coat. Allie loved the sparkles and the fur on the hood so even though it wasn't pink or purple (which are the true princess colors) she loved it! I looked at the tag and it was $49 marked down to $12 so I thought that was a pretty good deal and considered it. Then when we went up to pay it was 65% off of the lowest price. We paid about $4 for it and she has worn it everyday this year. Allie's teacher

My sewing

I have to post this for my mom. I asked her to help me make a pattern for an apron that I was taking to a party. She sent a pattern in Carter's birthday package and I made this. Its the first time (in a long time) that I've enjoyed sewing. I wonder what I will make next?

The rest of Carter's Birthday

A few days before Carter's actual birthday he kept making "parties" which means that he kept putting all kinds of stuff in a circle and then asking Scott or me to come and have a party. This is a card he made for a party with Scott. You may notice his new camera smile! Licking the beaters (if only the mixer had 4 so that each kid could have 1)and singing. 4 years old is the perfect age for blowing out the candles and so we lit the candles 10-20 times over 3 days and sang. Hey, whatever keeps my boy happy! He wanted a cake like one that I made a year or two ago with 4 wheelers on it. Allie started digging through the toys to find the 4 wheelers and found a bunch of stuff that she thought would look great on the cake. So with the kids all helping we came up with this cake. Not a moment of glory for my cake-baking days, but we all had fun. Notice there isn't even one 4-wheeler.

Carter's Birthday

My baby is 4 years old. We had quite the birthday celebration this morning before the girls left for school and now he is watching lightning McQueen while waiting for them to get back home. He is showing off his new "Rock Band" t-shirt and his "tech-deck" (finger skateboard) gear on his waist. I am so happy that we get to have him in our family. He says so many funny things right now. The other night he asked Scott if he could be excused from dinner and Scott said "no, you haven't eaten anything yet." Carter says, "whatever dad" and then starts eating. We have had lots of conversations lately about getting older and Allie told him that when he gets older he will get married and live in a house with his wife. Carter tells me at least once a day that he doesn't want to live with his wife, "I want to always live with you mom." Its so cute, I hope he keeps feeling that way until he's 19! Carter loves taking pictures lately. He is taking a picture of Allie and me. He can't quite figure out how to hold the button, then push a little harder to take it. But then after he holds it for a while he want to see the picture he just took, so I helped him out a little on this one. Allie thinks its so funny! Carter loves wearing his tie to church. His church shirt was getting too small so I got him a new one and when he put it on he looked so old. I can't believe my baby is getting so big! I tried to add some pictures of the kids dancing, but they must have been videos because they wouldn't post. Anyway, the kids have been dancing around the house lately and they love to make videos and take pictures of it. Sometimes we turn all the lights off and they dance by flashlight, Sometimes its in the day, sometimes we turn on Celine Dion(because thats who Sara loves right now), sometimes they sing their own dancing song. I just love watching them play together and laugh.

Settlers Park

We are all so excited for some warm-er weather. We went to this park in the fall and they've been anxious to go again all winter. The park has some huge musical instruments, lots of slides, rock climbing, and in the summer a little water park. I guess everyone had the same idea as us because we got there and the parking lot was full and there were probably 100 people there. We stayed anyway. The kids call it the pirate park Hanna and Allie Sara on the tallest rock Carter and Allie Carter Sara These are drums, I don't know why my kids were climbing on them. Hanna has been too goofy for pictures lately. Everytime she sees the camera out she hides or makes a crazy face. I caught her off guard for this one. I love watching my kids run. These two couldn't wait to get to the slides.
