Halloween Costumes

Hanna the football field - the "smurf turf" as we call it. Allie a nice witch Carter - Darth Vader And Sara - Athena Goddess of Wisdom and Battle Strategies (yes you have to say all of that everytime someone asks) We don't have pictures of Scott and me yet. But of course we are dressed up. He's Billy Ray Cyrus and I'm his daughter Miley.

Halloween Pumpkins

Monday, October 25, 2010

It was the 10th anniversary of our elementary school last Friday so to celebrate they had a sock hop. The girls were all excited to dress up so of course that meant I had to make 3 poodle skirts. They had a lot of fun choosing their animals and "embellishing" the skirts and of course they looked adorable. Carter wore his pants rolled up and a whtie t-shirt and looked great but didn't want his picture taken. I really had a hard time getting a good shot of the girls too. The Prisbrey family had a pumkin growing contest this summer and we are pretty sure that we won! Our biggest pumpkin measured 60 inches around!!! We went to a corn maze last week for family night and had so much fun. These are the only pictures I got which is sad because we also shot a corn cannon and watched some pig races. Sara got to represent a pig named "Lindsey Slowham" and her pig won the race. We were all so excited!

Crafting

My friends here are very crafty. I don't consider myself as being crafty but I've learned some tricks from them. I made some aprons (thanks to my mom teaching me how to sew even though I didn't really want to learn as a child). I crocheted some hats (thanks to my college roommate teaching me how). And I made some gifts for my next door neighbor because he watches our dog when we are out of town. He is a big BSU fan so the kids helped me made some decorations for his house to help liven up his football parties.

First Day of School

These pictures are all out of order. This is Carter getting ready for church one morning. He couldn't get the button undone when pulling it off the hanger so he just put it on anyway. He came walking through the room and we were all laughing. I love the logic of 5 year olds. Carter was all excited for school and ready to go, then we got to the bus stop and everything changed. He was pretty unsure for a minute but he got on the bus like a brave big boy. He loves school now and prefers riding the bus. Gotta show off the new back-packs! So excited to start school.

Cedar Breaks

Family Campout

We had so much fun this summer in Utah. We went camping with my whole family and the kids had a great time. One highlight was a pinata, and of course it became hats for everyone after the candy was out. Carter wore his as a hat then he started working on it with a knife and it became a megaphone, then a vest. I was so impressed with his ingenuity. This is Allie showing her hat. "Beauty and the Beast" at least thats what uncle Wayne said this picture was as we were taking it. Spelunking at mammoth caves. The kids went through the different caves several times and would have stayed longer if I would have let them. They must get that from their dad because I don't like enclosed places. Our cute cousins The whole crew (or at least most of them). My niece and sister-in-law made us all matching shirts

Summer Fun

We always spend a lot of time swimming in the summer but I rarely take pictures. Here are a few that I got this year. Hanna and Sara waiting to go down the slides Hanna and Sara shooting out of the slides. I kept telling them not to plug their noses, then they talked me into going down the slide and I couldn't believe how deep it sent me into the pool. This is just a city pool across town and its really cheap and so much fun. Allie's Birthday party I love girls this age. We had fun games planned but they wanted to jump on the tramp most of the time. They all ran around screaming for 2 hours and then we sent them home. Allie is such a sweet girl. She has always been so happy and content. All the girls in her class tell me that she is their best friend and she loves school.

Carter

Carter turned 5 on 5/05! He is so big now and has definately grown up a lot this past year. We went to his preschool graduation this morning (at the neighborhood park)and the weather stayed clear just long enough for them to sing all their songs before it started raining. Here he is with his teacher that we love. We've been doing a little work in the yard and Carter is all about it. He is a great help and he asks all day for the rest of us to come and help him. He grabs his gloves and shovel and heads out. I like to think that we are raising the perfect little gentleman. with all of these older sisters he should know how to treat a lady so this morning at preschool graduation once the rain stated he kept helping the girls around the park holding his umbrella over them it was so cute. His preschool class had 7 girls and only 3 boys but he didn't mind he's used to being surrounded by girls. Here they are at his birthday party. I think this is the 2nd time I've given in and bought a cake for one of the kids birthdays. I usually make one and attempt to decorate it the way they want but I was out of time and energy so I called Albertsons and they made this cake that he was crazy about. Riding a bike without training wheels! Scott took his training wheels off and he rode away like it was the easiest thing in the world. Then for the next week he asked to go for a bike ride every 10 minutes. I love when my kids are outside so we all humored him and each went several times a day. This is a hill in our back yard that he loves to ride down. (Notice my horse, I mean noodle in the background!)

Sara

Sara is writing a book about Noodle (the dog) for school. She is so excited about it and needed a picture of the two of them for the back cover (she did the posing). She had her 9th Birthday a few weeks ago and she invited 10 friends over for an olympic themed party.
