Sledding

We went up to woods ranch with the Prisbrey family and had a blast. It was the perfect day for sledding because it was warm outside and the snow was great. Angela and Jared (this is before he learned to eat the snow) Jason and Elizabeth tubing down the hill Heather and Mari my georgeous sister-in-laws. I consider it a great compliment when people tell me that I look like I am their sister (not in law). Christmas

We used the video camera on Christmas and forgot to get out the camera. Here are two pictures of their new pj's on Christmas eve and one picture of Allie Christmas day (Scott and I love her hair like this so had to take it....no, this one picture didn't remind us to take pictures of the others since it was Christmas...) We left Boise on the 26th for Utah and had Christmas parties with both families. This is Sara and Hanna as Angel's at the Melling family Christmas party.

Snow

I was remembering last years Christmas break this morning. It was cold outside, too cold to play, and there was no snow on the ground. 2 full weeks of kids inside. This year I am grateful for snow and kids playing outside in it. We woke up to another 3 inches today. The kids can hardly wait to finish their breakfast and head out. Sara and Carter eating icicles (I did it as a kid too, now I realize how disgusting that is) Hanna and Allie playing in the planter (Allie thought it would be a fun place, Hanna didn't) Allie in the snowsuit that I wore when I was her age. My mom didn't save many clothes from my childhood, but she couldn't part with this because I was so cute in it. She found it in the closet when Hanna was about 5. I am happy that she didn't get rid of it because all of my girls have worn it and it is too cute. She didn't save the matching moon boots. Oh well. Stopping for a picture while trying to get icicles off the roof. Snow is exhausting!

Random December

The last week of school before Christmas break is a blur....partly because we were so busy and partly because the kids were so wild that I blocked it from memory. We got a lot of snow and so the kids didn't go outside for recess which added to the energy. Allie had a dentist appointment and was happy to have no cavities. The dentist made her a balloon dog, but she was playing with it and it popped. She wanted a picture of what was left. YES!...we are in such a hurry some mornings that they have to eat breakfast in their coat with their backpack on...I'm not trying to win a motherhood award here, just trying to get through life. Carter was so excited to "help" at Allie's class Christmas party. He got to take home some popcorn and decorate a cookie. The other moms and teacher kept asking how old he is and when I told them 3 they said "he is a great communicator". I had to laugh, if they only knew him when he was one and yelling "mom, get me out of my bed!" These next two pictures are out of order. I'll just say that this is Hanna feeling bad, very, very, bad.... ...because her and Sara were wrestling and Hanna's knee knocked out Sara's tooth. It was actually a good thing because the last time Sara went to the dentist he told her that if it didn't fall out soon he would have to pull it. Don't worry, there were no tears or pain, just a lot of laughing and surprise.

First Boise Snowfall

The kids are so excited to have snow on the ground for the first time this winter. We spent 20 minutes finding all of our snow clothes, and another 20 getting them all dressed and then they spent about 20 minutes outside before realizing how cold it was and coming in for hot chocolate. They did shovel the driveway (kind of). Allie trying to swing, but sliding off. These two are such good friends. Carter asks all morning when Allie will be home from kindergarten and then she comes home and they run off playing. Sara's snowball The 3 girls sledding down the hill in our backyard. Dance Recital

Our girls took gymnastics in Cedar. When we moved they wanted to try something different, so they are in ballet. For their first recital Hanna and Sara were the Angels in the nutcracker. Allie did a dance to "rockin around the Christmas tree" and we've decided that she might be more of a singer than dancer because she spent more time singing the song than dancing to it. They all did a great job. The lighting was weird in the auditorium, I wish I had a picture of Sara outside.

Hanna's Tonsil surgery

Hanna had her tonsils out on the Monday before Thanksgiving with Uncle Mitch as her doctor. He also took out his daughter Jordyn's tonsils so they got to share a recovery room. Hanging out at the hospital before surgery. Right after surgery. Hanna and Jordyn decided to share a bed so that they could watch a DVD together. Ready to go home and wanting the IV out.

Halloween 2008

So, I know I'm way late. But I got the flu on Halloween and spent the whole day in bed. Scott was a great Mr. Mom and took all of the kids to the ward party and then trick-or-treating. He did a great job even taking soup and a carved pumpkin to the party. Taking on the job of both parents meant that he didn't have much time for pictures. In fact I am posting pretty much everything we have. Plus there are no pictures of Scott in his hippie costume with an afro wig :( Sara at her school as a baby Carter the fireman Allie the kittie Sara the baby Hanna the stoplight. This costume was all her idea and Scott (with his genius mind) rigged it so that she could change from red to yellow to green. I wish you could see from a picture how cool it was at night.

We are in Mourning

The loss of a loved one has cause us to pause our lives and reflect on what is really important. You never really appreciate those who are always there for you until they disappear out of your life forever. This tooth has been with us through thick and thin and never falters. Sara was blessed with 21 baby teeth - that is one more than most (average, ungenious, unspecial) kids. It has always been crooked and sticking out and definately gave her a unique look. When it started wiggling (for the second time) we were sad to see it go, but you can't hold on to baby teeth forever. You know a tooth is loose when you can close your mouth and the tooth hangs out! After its pulled! Much Better! Before again! (who's posting this anyway and can't figure out what order to put the pictures in?)
